Public health is a fascinating subject! It's the science and art of preventing disease, prolonging life, and promoting health through the organized efforts of society. Public health focuses on improving the health of a population and preventing health problems before they happen. It is a broad field and covers a range of topics such as air pollution, epidemiology, communicable disease control, risk assessment and health promotion.
The aim of this channel is to provide an introduction to the principles and concepts of public health.

[Ep 2] Ignaz Semmelweis -“The Saviour of Mothers” [Public Health Influencers]
Semmelweis was a Hungarian physician who proved that washing hands can save the lives of mothers. However, his attempts to change existing ideas and processes were unsuccessful. Today, handwashing is recognised as one of the most effective ways to prevent the spread of infections and a cornerstone of infection control.
